For people who read to do their job better
Keep what you read for work, and use it
Professional reading only pays off if it's there when you need it. Hikara keeps the books, highlights and notes from your work reading in one place, resurfaces them before they fade, and shows how ideas from different fields connect.
Why work reading doesn't stick
- You finish a business book, nod along, and a month later can't name three ideas from it.
- Highlights are scattered across an e-reader, photos of pages and notes apps.
- The book on negotiation and the book on cognitive bias never get read side by side.
- Reading time gets squeezed out by everything else on the calendar.
How Hikara helps knowledge workers
Highlights that come back
Save passages by typing them or photographing the page. Each day Hikara brings one past highlight back, with older ones more likely, so the ideas you marked return when they've half-faded, and every highlight is searchable.
Ideas that travel between fields
Bridges connect a psychology book to a management one, or a history to a strategy text — the transfers that turn reading into something you can apply. Each one is scored and explained.
Ask your books
Dialogues let you put a question to up to five books at once. Answers draw on the books' ideas and the passages you highlighted, so you can rehearse an argument before the meeting.
A reading habit that survives a busy week
Log a session in one tap, set a yearly goal or a finish-by date, and keep a streak, with freeze credits that cover a missed day or two automatically.
Questions
Can I import my Kindle highlights?
No. Type a highlight, or photograph the page and Hikara reads the text for you (ten photos a month on the free plan, 50 on Basic). Screenshots of your Kindle library or a Goodreads export bring in your books, not your highlights.
How does Hikara bring highlights back?
Each day the Reading tab shows one of your highlights, picked at random with older ones more likely, so passages you'd half-forgotten come back. It changes at midnight in your time zone.
Is my reading private?
Yes, by default. Your library, notes and highlights are private. Things become visible only when you choose: a shelf or journey you make public, a card or highlight you share, a reading wrap you publish, or your activity in a Circle you join.
Start keeping what you read
Free to start, no card needed. Import your Goodreads library or add the books on your desk.
